Tonik isn't just for kids

The BCBS Tonik plan was specifically designed for single adults between the age's of 18-29. This group represents the largest portion of uninsured's in the country, and they are also the healthiest statistically of the uninsured. The Tonik Health Plan has been a huge success, in California, Nevada, and Colorado, but the biggest surprise has been that people into their 50's have been opting for the plan. There are a lot of healthy elder singles out there who find the Tonik plan fits there lifestyle.

What sets the plan apart from an underwriting persective is that they will not issue riders, you are either in, or you are out. So a person with high blood pressure, or some other chronic, but not serious if taken care of condition cannot get accepted for the plan. They can however be easily accepted under other BCBS PPO, or HSA plans which are excellent also. However this is a discount to being healthy at an older age, and if you aren't taking medications you are still a good candidate for a Tonik Health Plan.
